Before and After Care Programs

Like many in 2020, at Camp Australia we overcame our fair share of challenges but coming out the other side we are a stronger and better organisation. We pushed through the disruption onset by COVID-19 to build momentum in an improvement journey that started 18 months ago, anchored on the best people, service excellence everywhere and quality partnerships.

As we announced at the end of Term 4 last year, we are moving into a new year with a refreshed brand and promise to Guide Children’s Growth. The reason for the change was that our brand, whilst much loved, no longer reflected who we are or how we operate. Our new promise places children at the heart of what we do, delivering enriching experiences that help children learn and grow.

As we enter 2021, we are proud to see signs that our improvement plan is working through feedback from employees, parents, principals and regulators.

And our quality ratings are growing too. Recent ACECQA data shows that over the last 12 months we had more services assessed than any other OSHC provider and have achieved a 92% meeting + rating for those services. This represents the largest quality shift in the sector with 7% improvement across our portfolio, ensuring Camp Australia exceeds the national average quality ratings at 80.7% of services rated as meeting or exceeding the standard. The considerable improvement over 2020 is just the start and I look forward to reporting on our progress over the course of this year.

Giving children a head start in 2021

In Term 1, we have an exciting line-up of activities planned to welcome new and existing students back into care.

• At Your OSHC by Camp Australia, our before and after school experiences, our teams have been busy designing the perfect program to kick off the new year, focused on welcoming children into service and strengthening friendships. 
• As a result of the drop in physical activity in 2020 and in order to get children moving and excited about participating in physical activity again, in Term 1 we will host the biggest ever national handball championship for children.
• With our new brand in place, we will also be launching our new holiday program this Autumn called Rocketeers by Camp Australia. Directed by the children, informed by family feedback and designed by our dedicated holiday crew, Rocketeers will be a space for children to escape the ordinary and experience the extraordinary during their school holidays.
