finance committee

As we rapidly approach the end of the 2020 school year, Finance Committee has been immersed in budget and planning discussions for the 2021 school year. Although 2020 has not been a conventional year and filled with lots of highs and lows, we are definitely looking ahead to 2021 with optimism and a positive outlook.

As 2020 moves to a close, we are pleased to share with the school community some positive news. Despite the ever changing landscape, the BNW office team has managed to keep the school finances on a steady track and we are now in a good position to close off the year with the ability to pay back a large proportion of the amount owed to the Department.

The 2021 budget process has been the most comprehensive one undertaken to date – with sub committees and teaching teams providing their plans for 2021 to assist in the budgeting process. One key focus of the process is ensuring that your child’s learning remains front and centre and that the resources and support available to them is not reduced or impacted.

Most of you will already be aware - works on our brand new STELA building has commenced. As we start to receive funds related to the $6.2 million build and outfitting of our new building, you will also see improvements in some of our existing facilities in the coming year. We are very excited about the latest developments on this front!
