Acting Executive

Principal

I feel very privileged to be appointed to the Acting Executive Principal role for Greater Shepparton Secondary College and the next chapter in its development. While teachers and support staff are looking forward to our summer break after a busy and challenging 2020, there is a lot of excitement for next year. While remaining on different campuses we are operating effectively as one College and of course looking forward to the completion of our new school and the amazing facilities and opportunities it will offer.

As a Shepparton resident, I am familiar with many in our school and wider community. For those who don’t know, I am a past principal of Wilmot Rd and Grahamvale Primary Schools and also served as a regional director of a network of local schools.

I was the inaugural principal of Benalla P-12 College following its successful merger and more recently, have been the Senior Education Improvement Leader at Greater Shepparton Secondary College.

In my acting role I look forward to meeting more students and families and no doubt rekindling some old friendships. In fact on Monday, our School Council President Tanya McKenzie-Sleeth and I will be at the Wanganui Campus for a “cuppa and chat” from 3 to 5pm.

The aim is to provide families with an overview of the College, its curriculum, extensive wellbeing programs and more – and to hear from you and your ideas. So feel free to drop in.

Otherwise I look forward to meeting many of you next year during my time as Acting Executive Principal when the Department of Education and Training undertakes a rigorous recruitment process to appoint the new Executive Principal.

May I wish our families a very happy and safe Christmas. A reminder that we will be available at the end of December and the release of our ATAR scores, for any support and advice our students may need.
