From the Principal

2020 The final curtain

At last, we see the end of 2020 and we should all be so proud of our achievements. To each and every student and family we have made it through together and we look forward to 2021 - the next chapter in Life at The Lakes.

Learning and resilience are all keys to making us better people. I have learned so many new things and tested myself under extreme pressure, all to make me a better person this year.

Our music day raised $564 which will help support the music journey of some of our primary students. The collection of goods to share some joy was extremely generous and we have built some new partnerships along the way. Great job!

With all the food donations that were given we were able to pass on to St. Vincent de Paul's lots of hampers for them to distribute and they would like to thank the whole school community for their generosity.

 Merry Christmas one and all.

Meet the teacher on Wednesday was wonderful and a list of the teams for 2021 is listed further in the newsletter.

So, it is also time to farewell Rosie and Rim, our outstanding support workers on primary. They have given the students amazing support and built relationships and resilience. We wish them well moving to new pathways. We also farewell Kate, our school nurse as she explores some different directions in school nursing. Kate has led many projects and will leave a lasting legacy.

Jen is moving to the tutor program and Jacob to a new school for 2021, both have made wonderful contributions to our school and we wish them well.

I hope you all spend quality time with loved ones, seek opportunities to support both regional and local enterprises and please remember if you need assistance with uniform or charges contact me and I will assist wherever I can.

Happy holidays and come back to us safe

Kerrie, Bill and Marcus.
