The BNPS Team
Our Staff
I would like to commend the staff for their ongoing professionalism, ability to transform learning from face to face to that of remote learning and for their passion for the wellbeing of their students throughout this surreal year.
The staff have been exposed to many positives as well as many difficult times throughout the year, yet they have maintained their optimism throughout and demonstrated their willingness to develop exemplary teaching and learning strategies for the students in their care.
Like many adults this year, they have not only completed their roles in a remote manner but they have also managed the huge task of teaching their own children, often from several settings simultaneously as their day job!
Moira Simpson
Assistant Principal Extraordinaire
Moira worked side by side with me throughout every day of this year including many late night and weekend meetings. All decisions made were joint decisions exemplifying my admiration, respect and total trust for Moira at all times.
To have survived this year would not have been possible if I had not had her ongoing support and encouragement.
We worked together to manage the ongoing Schools Operations Manuals and DHHS requirements while still completing the departments required managerial tasks and responsibilities.
As the students , we had to learn the online requirements for communicating to staff, attending network meeting and principal forums as well as attending school based meetings including Staff, year level, Coordinators and School Council meetings. We are no different to many corporate organisations as the BNPS staff have not met together in one space since March.
We have survived and still have a smile on our faces.
Thank you Moira for always being there.
The School's Leadership
The Leadership Team have certainly demonstrated the true meaning of ” team” and the distributive leadership model was demonstrated to a level not ever required prior to this year.
The support shown to each other has given us the strength to keep going even in the most difficult of times. I would like to thank the Leadership team-Brent Plowright, Jo Taylor, Deb Murnane, Mat Doran Brown and Grant Rounsley for their ongoing commitment to every role and responsibility thrown at them and also their willingness to forego their weekends so that school planning could continue 7 days a week.
Teaching Staff
To the Teaching staff, thank you for your outstanding work in providing the best education possible for our students. The primary years of schooling are the foundation for all future educational expectations.
From preparing lessons, planning curriculum, marking homework, preparing Learning Task feedback, attending meetings and completing required professional development to providing Lunch Clubs, managing student committees, mentoring students and attending school camps. Then there are parent-teacher interviews, extra-curricular activity planning and Semester Reports – much of which is done outside of the teaching day.
In addition to organising events and activities for the whole school, our Specialist Teachers have gone above and beyond in providing extra-curricular programs for our students from extension groups, competitions, special performances and staff vs student games.
Teaching Assistants
To our amazing team of Teaching Assistants, Jenny Baird, Kerryn Meredith, Jenny Marashli, Natalie Venuto, Janine Nelson and Annie Thomas. Thank you for the outstanding support you provide to the students (and their families) in your care.
Our Casual Replacement Teachers (CRTs)
We have a wonderful team of regular CRTs who adapt willingly to all roles and responsibilities at our school. I would like to sincerely thank Anna Holmes, Kaye Parker and Deb Ball for supporting our teaching teams throughout 2020.
Wellbeing Team
Dr Carolann Clifford and Archie.
How privileged are we to have had our own clinical psychologist available 24/7 throughout this school year?
On countless times throughout 2020 it was the counsel, advice and support of Carolann that kept us sane and in a state of positivity throughout the many situations we found ourselves in both professionally and personally.
Dr Clifford managed the health and wellbeing of our staff throughout this unreal school year and if this support was not readily available who knows where we would be?
Archie provided us with a furry friend to cuddle on many occasions and this gentle pet alleviated our stress and restored our equilibrium.
My most sincere thanks Doc, where would we be without you?
Thank you also to Archie (Therapy Dog) who do an amazing job!
Our Administration Team
I would like to sincerely thank Sue, Nicole, Kerryn, Annie and Sandra for surviving the school year.
Sue and Nicole attended school every day of the 2020 school year responding to emails of all types throughout the tumultuous highs and lows of 2020. This ongoing role was in addition to the normal required administrative tasks that are mandated to manage the school.
Thank you ladies for everything you have achieved. Your ongoing passion for the good of our school is to be applauded by everyone.
First Aid Team
Thank you Kerryn and Nicole for managing all aspects of our First Aid program so diligently.
