2021 Staff Changes

Farewell...

I would like to wish the following staff members the best of luck as they embark on new beginnings in 2020.

Mr Lee Skaftouros

An End Of An Era For Our Wonderful Cleaner

You don’t know how good something, or in this case someone is, until they are no longer there.   Lee commenced cleaning at our school in 1982.

The words Lee reiterated on several occasions was that you need to “care” to do a good job. This simple 4 letter word stands for every aspect of Lee’s commitment, dedication and undeniable passion for this school.

December 18  will be the last day Lee Skaftouros cleans our school.  BNPS transitions to the new contract cleaning model implemented by the department on the 19 December, 2020.  We do hope that the transition to this new model is smooth and that the same level of cleaning and care is able to be maintained.

Lee has not only managed the cleaning, the total hygiene requirements and beyond especially during COVID but has also written scripts for graduation items, written and performed songs for the staff and students, taught guitar to students when music teachers were not available, prepared sound tracks for several of our music teachers and school special events.

On behalf of the entire school community both past and present thank you Lee, you have been the longest serving staff member in the school’s 60 year history.

Thank you for just being you.

Crissa Cody-Smith

Crissa  commenced at our school in the mid 1990’s. Crissa was a classroom teacher for many years before she took over as our Teacher Librarian.

Crissa is not only a fully qualified classroom teacher but a qualified librarian.  Crissa  has shared her love of literacy with students and staff alike.

Crissa is also an extremely talented writer and has written the script for the last 3 school concerts.

Thank you Crissa for your ongoing commitment to our entire school community and your willingness to actively contribute to a vast range of extra-curriculum special events.

Shirley Kelly

Shirley assumed the role of a Year 6 teacher at the end of Term 1, 2020 and little did she know she was signing up for teaching remotely for much of the school year.  Shirley has just taken everything in her stride.

Shirley is an extremely experienced classroom teacher and is well respected by every staff member at our school.  Thank you for not only teaching the students in Year 6 but your willingness to happily undertake the many additional roles and responsibilities associated with being a classroom teacher.

We wish both Shirley and Crissa the very best in their future endeavours.
