Greetings to Everyone,
We have come to the end of another busy term. I want to acknowledge all the hard work undertaken by the students and staff at St Brigid’s this term. We have a wonderful school community and I am proud of everything we have achieved this term.
I am sure you are aware we have updated our website with many new photos of our current students. With our new website, we have the availability to use a newsletter as part of the website. Over the next term, we will be transitioning to the new newsletter. Please keep an eye out for this transition.
Keep an eye out for "The Advertiser" on Saturday 5th of August - We have a wonderful article showcasing all our amazing achievements over the last few years. This will be in the Catholic Education Section, our amazing mural by Ali A will be the showcase image and the results our students and staff have achieved will all be mentioned.
Flourishing Hearts and 2024 enrolments
Today we saw a number of our Flourishing Heart students graduate from the transition program and they will begin school in Term 3 as Reception students. In this year’s group, we have 5 new students to St Brigid’s. We are so excited to have these young learners be a part of our community on a full-time basis. Flourishing Hearts will continue with old and new enrolments for the 2024 school year.
We are finalising our enrolments for 2024 this term. If you have any younger siblings who could start in Term 1, 2024, please email Leia for further information.
Semester Reports
End of Semester 1 Reports were sent home on Tuesday 4 July. Please check your child/ren’s bag so that you can read about how your child’s learning journey is progressing. Please contact the school if you have not received your report.
ICT - computers and social media
At school, we are continually monitoring what students are searching for. Each child has signed an ICT agreement at the beginning of the year around the use of IT services at school and this is always referenced, should a problem occur. As teachers, we support students to make responsible choices when online. This is done through the Digital Technologies Curriculum and the Child Protection Curriculum, where Cyber Safety education plays a vital part.
Cyber Safety is ensuring that all people are safe and responsible while using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Technology is much more accessible, and students are spending more time online. There are a number of issues that students need to be aware of when online eg. Not sharing personal details online, password protection, cyberbullying etc.
There are also a number of resources available online to help students understand the importance of being safe. You may want to go through these with your child as well. Click on the various links below to go to the websites that look at different Cyber Safety issues.

School Tours
Please let your family and friends know we are now offering set tour times.
School Starting and Finishing Times
Just a reminder that school lessons start at 8:50 am and all students must be at school by then. Supervision is from 8:30 am in the courtyard and playground. We have Breakfast Club every morning for the students who may not have had breakfast that morning. School finishes at 3:00 pm and teachers remain on duty until 3:20 pm. Any student who is not collected by 3:20 pm will be sent to OSHC and charges will apply.
Student Safety
As your Principal, it is my job to ensure the safety of your children at school, but I need your help and support to keep all our children safe.
Please - I can not stress this enough - Please cross at the crossing, not between the cars. This is very very dangerous and you can actually be fined if caught!
Whilst I'm writing about traffic - please abide by the road signs and DO NOT park in the NO STANDING, or DO NOT PARK in the crossing - this is unsafe for our students and our staff as they have to move further into the road without being able to see the oncoming traffic as cars are parked there. Everyone will be able to collect their child/ren and they are constantly supervised and, so we can all go home after the school day please follow the road rules for EVERYONE'S SAFETY.
Have a wonderful week ahead and a relaxing holiday time together.
In Peace Love and Learning,
Shannon Correll
