Stories in the Wall

Last Thursday we had our final visit into Melbourne for this amazing program. There are a few changes from our last update:

           - due to the weather they have moved the installation in front of Hamer Hall, you can't miss it, and there is a sticker on the ground with the QR code to scan

-you can also listen to the stories as you walk between Hamer Hall and the Arts Centre and can visit throughout the holidays

-the website (final product) will be launched in July but in the interim you can listen to the stories via think link Stories in the Wall

I'd just like to congratulate our students once again. All of the adults we worked with on this project took the time to speak or email me about how amazing our kids were, that it was a pleasure to work with them, that they listened and took direction so well, how polite they were, and ... I could go on but to sum up we'd like to say how proud we are of the way they represented themselves and our school. So now let's hear from them...

A few days ago we went to Stories in the Wall. We didn't just go to Stories in the Wall but we went to see a play called Hide the Dog.  Everyone enjoyed it and thought it was great. It was about the last Tasmanian devil and 2 kids trying to sail to New Zealand to save the last Tasmanian devil. We all had lots of fun and really enjoyed the experience. In Hide the Dog I loved how there was a lot of culture about both Aboriginal and Mauri cultures. It was very entertaining, and I think I learnt lots about Aboriginal and Mauri culture. Such as Maui Dances, Aboriginal Dances and the Tasmanian devil myth plus the Kiwi myth. We all had a great time and Thanks to all of the Donors who helped us have this experience we could not have done this without you. Thank You! -Evie

Over the past 2 terms me and some of my friends have been writing some stories so on Monday the 12th of June my friends and I went to the Melbourne Arts Centre to go watch a play. The experience was AMAZING and the play was OUTSTANDING! Some of us got interviewed and that was exciting too. The whole time was fun and the best part was listening to our stories all finished and all the hard work really paid off. It inspired some of us to go and write our own stories. You can even go and listen to our stories yourself at the Melbourne Arts Centre playing publicly. I hope other students get to experience this in the future. Thank you to all the donators who made this possible. -India

Stories in the Wall was an amazing experience. I got to write a story with my friends, get interviewed, record my story, hear my story, learn new things and I got see a play called Hide the Dog in the Melbourne Arts Centre. -Charlee

My favourite part of stories in the wall was watching Hide the Dog. It was so cool recording and being with my friends for the whole experience. I loved getting interviewed, they asked me so many questions about my time with stories in the wall. -Niamh

My favourite part of the ACM was the show, Hide the Dog. It was so heartwarming to actually experience a show with a kiwi included. It was the best show I’ve seen because they include someone that I share the same culture. GO THE KIWIS!!! 😀
