Student Voice &

Positive Environment (Middle Years)

Assistant Principal's Report

The school Student Representative Council (SRC) are continuing to work hard in having the voices of all students heard. They have been working this term to ensure the effective use of class captains to elicit ideas and suggestions from all tutor groups to address as a collective SRC.

The SRC have also been busy looking at events this term. Coming up on the 18th of August is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. This is a great day for our school community to work together to implement evidence-informed positive and proactive solutions to prevent and address bullying.

Following this on the 25th of August is Wear It Purple Day, a day to support the LGBTQIA+ youth of our College, a day where we build social inclusion and advocate for a community where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them. There will be a variety of events occurring on the day, including an out of uniform day- gold coin donation, as well as best dressed competitions, stalls outside the Community Hub and a writing competition.

The members of our SRC have also been invited to participate in the Wyndham Student Representative Committee (WSRC). This will help our members develop leadership and project management skills to create and implement youth-led projects within the college and wider community.
