Unexpected Visitor

by Gelilia Alemu on behalf of the Year 3 and 4 Community

The Year 3 and 4 Community was quietly reading when suddenly a woman called the Unexpected Visitor popped out of nowhere! She had golden tinsel hair and a tinsel belt. She had a scroll that said,

"Dear Marvellous Year 3/4, you are the chosen ones. You have been selected to spread as much kindness and happiness that can fit into our school...plus infinite."

She told us that her best friend Dudley will be hiding in our room every day with our task. I felt very shocked when she came in. I also felt surprised.

After the Unexpected Visitor had come, we had a small talk about the emotions we felt. We made a connection that the Unexpected Visitor

was Gabriel and we were Mary. Gabriel was telling Mary that she was going to have a baby, he told her to name him Jesus. It was kind of like the Unexpected Visitor telling us that we were the chosen ones. I loved it, it was very exciting.

Naplan School Readiness Test (SRT)

In 2022, NAPLAN is moving online. To assist us in the transition to the online testing environment, we have to test our school’s technical capacity. Next Wednesday, students in Year 3 and Year 5 will take part in the Naplan SRT. This will involve the students undertaking an Omnibus test (both Year 3 and Year 5)  and an online Writing test (Year 5 only). The results from this test are not collected and it merely tests whether our network has the capacity to host 55 students in the testing environment. Teachers will be providing a supportive environment for all the students at this time.
