Principal's News

Carmel Stutterd

Good afternoon families,

I hope you have all enjoyed the warmer weather this week and managed to stay inside for the storms. Just another crazy week in Melbourne with the weather and covid.

We have had another 3 positive cases this week and again all these students are not having any bad symptoms.

Due to the number of positive cases that keep appearing in the last 3 weeks, we are going to continue to keep our students apart. We will not be gathering for a whole school mass, it will be taped and the teachers can watch it with their students during the coming 10 days.

We will not be gathering as a whole school for and end of year assembly as I am mindful that on one wants to be in isolation for Christmas. Naturally, I am very disappointed that we cannot have the usual celebrations and times to be together as a whole school community.

The prep Christmas concert will go ahead on Monday morning but only double vaccinated persons can attend and we are limiting the number to 2 per child.

The Grade 6 Graduation will go ahead but only double vaccinated persons can attend, other than the grade 6 students.

This coming week the Grade 6 students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Each Grade 6 class will have their own ceremony across Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Please keep these students in your prayers as they complete the Sacraments of Initiation. Thank you to Father Andrew, Mrs Marylene Douglas and the grade 6 teachers for the hard work they have done in preparing these students for the receiving of this Sacrament.

Another Grade 5 camp has finished today and we are so pleased to welcome back our happy campers. Thank you to all the grade 5 teachers who attended, to Frank and Mrs Stefanec who attended both camps and to Mrs Douglas, Ms Mc Dermott and Anne C. Without these wonderful adults the camps could not go ahead. Thank you once again to the staff for supporting our camp program.

The Beach Safety Program is on next week for the grade 3-6 classes, and swimming will continue as well.

MONDAY 6 Dec is a school closure day.

We will see all students back on Tuesday 7 December.

Enjoy your weekend
