Dance Showcase

Semester 2

On Wednesday 24th October we held our second semester Dance Showcase in the Visy Stadium at the Wanganui campus. This was a raw and unplugged version of our usual showcase, normally held in a theatre with all of the bells and whistles of lights, media and backstage areas. Nonetheless, approximately sixty excited students from years 9-12 participated in the rehearsal day and performed to a very high and pleasing standard in the evening.

The night centred around the concept of “Seasons” and featured class pieces based on Winter, Spring, Autumn and seasons of work and school. Students also performed VCE performance examination solos, duets, trios and there was a range of fantastic costumes to suit each piece.

We were joined by teachers, family and friends for this wonderful evening and final curtain call for our Year 12 Dance students who graciously returned to us, amidst work and extra curricular dance school concert rehearsals. Thank you and farewell to our amazing Year 12 cohort who I have had the pleasure of teaching over the years - Ada Coonerty, Kayla Davis, Bridie Mackay, Hamish Nelson, Harrison Watson and Joy Parnell (absent). We wish them all the best and success in their future endeavours.

Many thanks goes to the students for their hard work and representing our school so wonderfully and also to staff and parents who assisted on the day and/or night – Nathan Saddlier, Ali Sealie, Dexter Archibald, Leanne Coote, Karen Trainor, Reza Karnejat and parents Kathleen Mills and Maria Makin. Take a final bow for the year, dance students. I’m very proud of you all!
