Remembrance Day

Written by Surya & Shriya

Remembrance Day Ceremony was definitely different this year. With COVID rules still in place, it was quite hard for us to get together. Normally all classes would come into the courtyard with the school leaders standing on the stage; commemorating those who let us live a peaceful life we are currently in. We would have the choir singing Flanders Field, a musician playing the bugle and the students listening serenely. This time we had to watch it live through Zoom. Although this was done online, we still felt connected as a school, particularly during the Last Post. It was a time to reflect and remember those who served our country.

They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Student voice:

  • Brock W - “I liked the one minute of silence because we commemorate the brave soldiers who fought"
  • Xavier H - “It’s nice that we can remember our fallen soldiers”
  • Tyrone K - "We remembered the people that died to save our people"
  • Addison D - "I liked the celebration over zoom in our classroom"
  • Samy C - "I liked making the poppies"
