ADVENT - THIRD WEEK- 'JOY'

The third Sunday in Advent is Gaudete Sunday, from Latin meaning ‘rejoice’.

God of Joy,

We patiently and joyfully wait for the birth of Jesus, for the start of something wonderful!

May we share the joy with our friends and global family.

We pray for all those around the world who struggle to have enough to eat and we ask for the strength to continue supporting them and working for a fairer world.

May we celebrate with joy as we approach Christmas,

In your name, we pray,

Amen.

SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST

Last Saturday afternoon we celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist with many of our Year 4 children. We would like to thank all involved in preparing the children for this special occasion. We would especially like to thank Fr Simon for his spiritual guidance and for the 'working masses' that he conducted during the six weeks leading up to the day. As the children continue on their spiritual journey may the Lord continue to guide and bless them each and every day.

Christmas Eve Children's Mass

We welcome all families to join us in celebrating the 'birth of Jesus'. This year a special Christmas Eve-Children's Mass will be offered at 4 pm.

Fr Simon looks forward to seeing the children with their families come along and celebrate together this joyful occasion.

Children are most welcome to come dressed as 'angels' or 'shepherds'.  If you would like to participate and have your children do a reading please contact Rachel in the Parish Office-9470 2586. We are also looking for someone to operate the PowerPoint of songs. The songs are already set and available on a slideshow. If you can help please contact me at rsquarci@srprestonwest.catholic.edu.au or Rachel at the above number.
