Lets have a look at the science exploration that students have been engaging in over the last (final) couple of weeks.

Year 5/6

Year 5/6 students explored the mutually beneficial relationship between bees, flowering plants and food. Students created questions to match answers about these relationships which were collated into a shared display.

Students also explored NASA's demonstration and testing of the DART technology. This test is designed to collide a spacecraft into a very far off asteroid and push it off its course. Students used marbles to model this test.

Year 3/4

Students explored different ocean habitats, their importance and some of the challenges oceans face.  Students represented their thinking in a range of ways including drawings, reflections and a word cloud.

Year 1/2

Students explored the features of invertebrates and drew an imaginative invertebrate, which they took home. Students also spent some time getting to know each other during Headstart and shared their ideas about scientist.

Foundation

Students learnt that there are many different parts of our environment, that they are connected, and that all parts of our environment need to be looked after. Students took home their drawing of an environment that is special to them.
