Our Environment

You may have heard whispers of some feathered friends wandering around the school, having no boundaries. I can confirm that these sightings are correct!!

Earlier this year we received an allocation of chickens from the Royal Melbourne Show to add to our small family. They have since grown, which meant we had to upsize. Our Chicken Coop is in the process of being transformed to accommodate our growing family of feathered friends.

Thanks to Bunnings for their ongoing support, to Rob Cambruzzi for his building expertise, and to our volunteers; Janine Sciortino, Jessie and Matt for giving their valuable time.

We have Christened the coop “Cambridge House for the Feathered”, a fitting name in appreciation of Kerry, who spends a considerable time looking after and organising for the chickens to be looked after.

Meet the Team

We’re excited to announce that St.Anne’s is one of 111 schools and youth organisations to receive a 2021 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grant.

We’re using our $5000 grant to beautify the dry river bed area and enhance the levels of biodiversity within the school. Plumbing has already been installed, ready to accommodate irrigation. Students will have the opportunity to contribute to, learn from and enjoy this magnificent environment upon its completion.

The Victorian Government through the Department of Land, Water and Planning – Victorian Landcare Program, is funding these grants to provide young Victorians in schools, groups and communities an opportunity to participate in outdoor, hands-on, on-ground projects, and environmental learning activities that provide both environmental and educational outcomes, as well as health and social benefits.
