State Lawn Bowls Championships

Congratulations to the children who competed in the State Lawn Bowls Championships in Sunbury last week. They all played great bowls throughout the day, and missed competing in the Grand final by 1 point. A big thank you to Kate Brewer and Naomi Parker for their help during the day, and to Jamie Balcombe’s grandparents for their support.

Colac Primary Schools Cross Country

Well done to the children who competed in the Colac Division Cross Country yesterday at the Colac Golf Club. It was a tough course! The 9/10 year old’s ran 2 kilometres, and the 11, 12 and 13 year old’s ran 3 kilometres. Thanks to the parents who helped out on the day.  A special thanks to Mr Baker for his help with time-keeping. Children who qualified for the Greater Western Cross Country will be notified when results are finalised.

 

Sacred Heart Swimming Program

There will be no swimming program next week due to NAPLAN.

 

Greater Western Tennis Championships

Good luck to Taneisha Goonan, Andie Scott, Toby Barren and Hugh Coulson who have qualified to compete in the Greater Western Tennis Championships this Friday 7th May at Hollioake Park in Ballarat. We wish them all the best. 

 

State Team Trials

In the past week we have had a small number of children try out in the 12 and Under Victorian State Team Trials. Congratulations to Izaac Tate who has made it through to the second stage in basketball and to Ted Buchanan, Hugh Coulson and Jed Hay who have made it through to the second stage in AFL Football. We wish them all the best in the next stage of the competition.

 

Boys Netball Trials

Trials are currently being held for our Boys Netball Teams. They will be competing against St Mary’s on Friday 14th May. Trials were held with the year 5 boys last week and the year 6 boy’s trials will take place this Thursday. Could boys who are interested please wear their sports uniform.

 

Colac Primary Schools Golf Tournament

The Colac Primary Schools Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday 20th May at the Colac Golf Club. Information will go home to children who have qualified for this event. This is not a compulsory event. Parents/guardians need to read the information carefully because there is a lot of rules involved in this tournament (especially safety rules). Parents will need to complete the permission form on PAM once children receive qualifying information.

 

Jump Rope For Heart

It is time for everyone to get skipping in preparation for our “Jump Off” day on Friday 11th June. Children will have a chance to show off their skipping skills on this day. This will be the same day as our Sacred Heart Feast Day. Children will skip between recess and lunch time (11.30 am - 1.30 pm).
