What to ask kids instead of                     “How Was Your Day?”

I just received a great email from “Big LIfe Journal” about asking kids how their day was. It’s something we all do and I’m guilty of asking this exact question to my own child every time I pick him up at the end of the day. Most of the time I’m met with “good” or “fun” and I’m sure I’m not the only parent who experiences this. Now I try to ask more effective questions to help him open up and share more about his day.

The below resource from Big LIfe Journal has some great suggestions on different questions to ask to create great discussions.

I hope this helps you form a deeper connection with your children after a long day apart, and that it gives you a different response.
