Happy holidays

On behalf of the Principal Team I’d like to wish the school community a happy and healthy break.

A highlight of ours this term has been our re-engagement with the community. Today’s bacon and egg breakfast was a great way to celebrate our re-connection. Thank you to the families who have been so active in supporting this re-engagement;  CHAPS with the Easter Raffle;  parents reading and attending swimming/sport;  and the MOTHS Paper Plane and Pizza evening.

To our staff, well done on another great term supporting the Croydon Hills Primary School community. As I shared earlier this week, it still strikes me as somewhat odd that we had a school closure and it was considered ‘normal’.  You all handled it with zero fuss and the utmost professionalism.  What a crazy world we’re currently in!

And to our kids, have a great break!  Enjoy your chocolate surprises, spend lots of time outside, doing things you love and have at least one pyjama day!

All the best Jaclyn

All the best to Jaclyn Lister, who has begun leave prior to the birth of her second child. Over the last two years Jaclyn has done a wonderful job supporting Learning Enhancement through Remote Learning and then as a member of the Junior School team this year.  A highlight of her work over the last two years has been her leadership of the Junior School Council.  Prior to the birth of Jaclyn and Matthew’s first child Mae, Jaclyn built a wonderful reputation in the school community as both an excellent classroom teacher and the staff leader of school community events like the Fair.  All the best Jaclyn!

Staffing update

Following Mia’s resignation, Cheyenne Mason has returned to support our Student Wellbeing program. Cheyenne will work Mondays and Wednesdays.

As shared above, Jaclyn’s has begun her Personal Leave into Parental Leave. As a result:

  • Leah Colverd has increased her time fraction and take on the Friday in JLC.
  • Jasmine Tadesse will join the Junior school on Thursdays, replacing Jaclyn’s teacher release role (for professional learning).

Facilities work over the holidays

Over the holidays Croydon Hills Primary School will be a very busy place with:

  • An LED lighting upgrade happening throughout the school.
  • The final reinstatement of the fire affected rooms in Block D.
  • Carpeting/Lino in MFP, MVU, MLS, MBW, the Middle school breakout spaces, the new Science Room and Digi Tech room.
  • Fencing in the farm and between the stadium and the Senior school building.
  • Synthetic grass in and around the Gaga Pit and Senior classrooms.
  • Reinstatement of our Basketball towers

Updated Annual Implementation Plan (AIP)
