AT  THE END OF THE TERM OUR 'HOT  WRITE' ACTIVITY WAS USING THE PROMPT :

Favourite Sentences 

 

My favourite sentence from my hot write is: “I fetched the sauce from my pocket, but before I could even touch it, I realised I couldn’t do it”. Ho Nam 

 

When I went back home I rushed back and did his book report, it was late at night by the time I finished his book report, my eyes got so heavy that I fell asleep. Crystal 

 

We got there and my mouth dropped like a big brick. Xavier 

 

I decided to wash the dishes because I wanted to help and give my mom a break because she always washes the dishes. 

 

I gazed at the poor canine as i lost track of mind. Lochie

“So... when she was filling up her water bottle upstairs in my mum’s bathroom, she finished filling up her water bottle and suddenly decided to pretend to keep on filling the water bottle and played with the extremely expensive delicate Gucci perfume!”  Hayley 

 

We were down by 2 points and if we didn’t defend hard enough they would score and we might lose. 

When writing I found these new words like wondrous world and words like bounding bobbing, belief. Finn 

 

I was bursting with excitement when I found out it was Christmas tomorrow. William 

 

Luke was pulling a funny face at Alex and mum was flipping pancakes on the frying pan. Dad was reaching for the maple syrup and I thought, no more jinxes and blinked happily in the sunlight that stretched across the kitchen floor. Leonor 

 

 

THINKING - ETHICS AND EMOTIONS 

 

A summary written by Lochie. 

We started to get used to the topic of Ethics and 'doing the right thing even when no one is looking' by discussing subjects such as fairness, happiness, harm and truth.  A lot of people had fun because of writing down ideas for their subject and presenting their amazing work to the class. Majority of people were delighted to work with their friends. Please see some of our thoughts and questions below. 

 

What is a dilemna ? 

A type of question that is hard to answer/decide H.C.

A dilemma is when you can’t decide something When you have to decide something G.P.

To decide fairly or rightly T.J.

A problem with fairness I.M.

A connection between 2 things I.M.

 

 

What is the true meaning of fairness?

What is the benefit of being fair?

What is the history of fairness?

Can fairness be bad?

If you are kind does it mean your fair?

Could a person be bad and fair at the same time?

 

 

If someone hurts me, do I hurt them back or get a supervisor?

If I hurt someone because they hurt me, is it self defence or being mean?

If I hurt someone, should I say sorry or leave?

If an animal harms me do I harm it back or run away?

If someone harms you, do you put gossip on them?

LIFE EDUCATION - RESPECT - CONNECT - RELATE 

 

We had a great session with Cathy and Harold the giraffe. We talked about respect, empathy and friendships. 

At the end we made a promise to ourselves.
