From the Team 3/4 Classrooms

Team 3/4 Expo!

Over the past couple of weeks students in Team 3/4 have been working very hard to get ready to share their work at the Expo. We were so excited to welcome all the parents and carers into our classroom and have them see the final product. In Team 3/4 we chose 3 pieces of work to share, one from our work in English, our Rich Assessment Task from the Game of Life Unit and a variety of Maths games that are used in the classroom as warm up exercises.

Our English piece was our information report on a favourite sport or hobby. We have spent many weeks learning how to structure an information report, focusing on an introduction, 3 main paragraphs and a conclusion, as well as the important language features to use. From there we researched our hobby or sport, completed a plan and rough draft and finally published our work to present at the Expo. We hope you enjoyed reading them and learning about different sports and hobbies that are important to us.

The Game of Life has been our topic throughout Term 1 and has had a focus on identity. For the Expo we displayed our Game of Life game boards and question cards. By playing the Game of Life we were able to learn about others and appreciate and celebrate that everyone is unique in their own way.

This term in Maths we have played many fun and engaging Maths games.  These have focused on areas of learning such as understanding place value, rounding whole numbers and decimals and investigating odd and even numbers.  The students really enjoyed the opportunity to share these games at the Expo and to play against their parents.

We hope you had a wonderful time at the Expo, we certainly enjoyed sharing our work with you!
