Student of the Week Awards Presented 26/3/21

Jordan A. - 00L

The award goes to Jordan for his fabulous effort and enthusiasm in our maths activities. This week Jordan has practised ‘hefting’ lots of different items from the classroom. He was then able to order them from lightest to heaviest. You’ve put in a superstar effort Jordan! Well done on your amazing work.

Braxton P. - 00N

Braxton is to be congratulated on showing the HEART value Excellence. He is listening very carefully to the sounds he can hear in the words he wants to write. Congratulations Braxton we are all very proud of you. You are a Scoresby Superstar!!

Jake K. - 1/2D

Jake is receiving this award for taking on learning in such an enthusiastic and responsible way. Each day, Jake walks in excited about any maths we plan to do for the day. He took on the challenge to measure the length of our classroom door using unifix blocks and found himself having to problem solve to count the blocks quickly. He cleverly decided to use a set of ten blocks to skip count them all. Well done Jake – I am so proud of you. Keep up the great work!

Eason C. - 1/2F

Eason is receiving this award for always showing his HEART values. He consistently displays the value of Excellence by striving to achieve his personal best in everything he does. Eason works well alone and as part of a group and is always willing to help others by sharing his knowledge. I was very impressed with the math’s strategies he was able to apply and explain this week. Well done, Eason! Keep up the great work!

 

Chloe Z. - 1/2K

Congratulations Chloe on your excellent work in maths this week. You used the skill of estimation with great accuracy in measurement tasks this week. You were able to use informal measurements to check your estimation. Great work Chloe! Well done.

Rita V. - 3/4C

The 3/4C award goes to Rita for her terrific start to Scoresby Primary School. Rita has been at the school for one week and has already demonstrated all of the Scoresby H.E.A.R.T values both in and out of the classroom. We all feel very lucky to have you in 3/4C Rita!

Tyler H. - 3/4E

Tyler is receiving this award for displaying an enthusiastic attitude during our reading sessions this week. He successfully demonstrated how to raise and lower his voice while reading aloud to show emotion and convey meaning. Tyler eagerly listened to his classmates as they read their texts before tuning in to their change of voice to guess the punctuation on their page. I’m so proud of you Tyler, you’re a reading superstar!

Oliver L. - 3/4S

Oliver is congratulated on the wonderful improvement he has made in his work habits this week. Oliver has stayed on task, listened to feedback and suggestions about his writing and then used this to improve his work. He has worked hard in Maths, participating in group activities enthusiastically. Oliver, it is great to see you striving for excellence.

Jonelle is a hard-working student who always gives her best effort during all tasks. Jonelle shows respect to everyone, listens attentively at all times and always contributes thoughtful ideas. She has been producing wonderful persuasive texts where she has included emotive language and personal pronouns. Jonelle is motivated to learn and responds to teacher feedback. You are a wonderful role model to others. Keep up the great work!

This award goes to Bella for her ongoing commitment to always trying her hardest in all aspects of school work. Bella is enjoying playing maths games to increase her understanding of skills taught and was recently able to explain to me the procedure for a game Mrs Rheumer had taught them that was new to me. Keep up all the great learning you are doing Bella!

Sheena L. - 5/6W

For the wonderful persuasive writing piece that she wrote this week on ‘Education is important for everyone’. Sheena wrote a detailed introduction that included her point of view, a rhetorical question and information about the topic. Sheena wrote three well thought out arguments and included evidence to support each of them. Congratulations on a wonderful writing piece Sheena. You should be very proud of yourself!

James G. - Visual Arts

This term students in 3/4 have been exploring art from ancient civilisations. James demonstrated curiosity and interest when learning about the pottery from Ancient Greece. He carefully created a cutout of an amphora drawing patterns and a figure that were developed in this time period. Wonderful work and enthusiasm James!
