Creative and Performing Arts

STEP Dance

Step Dance is making great progress on their first piece ‘borrowed eyes’ the students are composing and collaborating with Ms. Tomic and this piece will form the first in their performance repertoire. Students will be using this piece to audition for festivals and performances later in the year.

Year 11 Visual Arts

Year 11 VA students began the year with a mini Body of Work project so that they can sample different ideas and material practices in preparation for year 12. Students have developed some wonderful drawings in their process diaries while reflecting on a theme about self and identity. Students used a variety of art mediums and techniques in the creation of their final artworks.

We are currently studying a unit of work on art and war. Year 11 are experimenting with the mixed media techniques of war artist Henry Moore, with fantastic results.

Year 12 Visual Arts

Students continue to work hard on their Body of Work, drawing close to the finish line of their HSC. Reva (pictured) experiments with different drawing styles, surfaces, and materials to understand the most aesthetic composition for her large-scale Body of Work.

Year 11 Visual Design

Students have just completed their first unit in Visual Design. Students focused on creating simple Egyptian-themed jewellery to explore different elements and principles of design, following a design brief for their first Assessment task (see pictured), and have done a great job. Students are now eagerly working on a new unit that focuses on Comics.
