Instrumental Music

Inaugural Concert a success. 

On behalf of music staff congratulations to all music students who performed at our inaugural concert last week. The evening showcased solo and small group items, our string ensemble, year 10 band and our junior concert band. Our students have been preparing their solos and ensemble pieces since the beginning of term 2. They all performed with confidence which is great to see. We look forward to hearing the progress our young musicians will make in the coming months as they will all be on show at our next concert planned for term 3. 

 East Gippsland Music Festival 

Our concert band and string ensemble students have been invited to participate in the East Gippsland Music Festival held at Bairnsdale Secondary College in the last week of term 2. These students are currently working on repertoire to rehearse in combined music workshops culminating in a Gala Concert that will feature all ensembles. This is a great event and our students will return full of confidence. Fingers crossed the event will go ahead. Due to the current lockdown restrictions a decision will be made be the host school by the end of the week. If it is cancelled the event will most likely take place in term 3. We will keep all students and families updated as we receive information.
