Central Australia Camp

On Monday 4 April, 77 students and 8 staff set off for Central Australia, on a camp that had been delayed since 2020.

The first stop was Yulara where the group experienced the glorious sunrises and sunsets over Uluru and were privileged enough to learn about some local lore from Anangu elders.

Then it was time to push north up to Alice Springs with visits to the beautiful Simpsons Gap and MacDonnell Ranges.

Our trip up to the tropics was slightly delayed by a wheel issue with one of the trailers but the

group maintained their good spirits and soon enough we were enjoying our first night in the Top End at the weird and wonderful Daly Springs.

which gave us just a glimpse into the First Nations People who have been there since time immemorial.

Finally, a day in Darwin with a final dinner at the historic Stokes Hill Wharf capped off a fantastic trip that, after two years of delays and uncertainty, was both challenging and rewarding. Thank you to all the staff and students who attended to make this a truly memorable Central Australia Camp!
