Wind Tunnel

This week the Year 10 Physics students are involved in an incursion all about flight to link to the work they have been doing in class about forces and motion. A wind tunnel was delivered to the school on Monday and the students were shown how to make an air foil, test it and analysis data to make conclusions about what wing shapes are the best for flight. 

They were super engaged on Monday and were excited to use state of the art testing equipment throughout the week.

Robotics Competition

We are very excited about Blackburn High School, hosting a FIRST Robotics Competition on 1-3 July, the first one to ever be hosted in Melbourne. We have a team of 15 very committed students involved in the competition that meets on Mondays from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Teachers and other support people are working with the students. The robot is already half built and the team can’t wait to continue to see it develop and start to code it.
