Music

Midyear concert

The music program at BHS is once again in full swing as we approach the Mid-year Concert. Students from 14 ensembles are busily preparing for this event and looking forward to once again being able to perform in front of a live audience. For some of our students this will be the first time that they will have performed and we wish them well at what will be a great night.

Student Leadership

At the end of last term, our music leaders developed a set of values and behaviours for the music program. At a special assembly on Wednesday May 18, they presented the following. That we are:

A passionate, creative and persistent community dedicated to supporting each other to thrive.

To make this happen, our expected behaviours are to:

  • Have a growth mindset
  • Be punctual and prepared
  • Bring positivity and enthusiasm to everything we do.
  • Co-operate and collaborate (lift others up)

To acknowledge students who best demonstrate these behaviours we introduced a student of the week and would like to congratulate our first recipient, Anna Yamazaki.

Some very exciting announcements will be made soon regarding what is happening in the Music Program in semester 2. More will be revealed soon, but it is going to be an amazing opportunity for our students.
