2022 HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY REPORT 

Dear Parents,

At the end of last term, we conducted the 2022 OLHC House Cross Country Championship in glorious sunshine on the best day of the week. In the end we had a lovely sunny morning with not a breath of wind which some would say are the ideal conditions for running two or three kilometres around Central Park Eltham. 

This event serves three purposes. As I mentioned last term, throughout term 1 all students in year 3 to 6 had been preparing for the House Cross Country during the warm up phase of their weekly PE lesson. We started with 2 laps of the school yard (225m x2) and built up by a couple of laps each week. They run a 15minte run as a conclusion in one of their last PE classes and then finish with the House Cross Country! The second purpose of the event is to decide the Winner of the House Cross Country Shield and the third is to select the members of the school Cross Country that will represent us at the Eltham District School Sports Association Championship on Wednesday 18th May at Lower Eltham Park.

Well done to all the students who came along and gave it ago and congratulations to the winners of the individual age group events. Every House managed to win at least one category. When all the results were in it was very tight between Red and Green. In the end Green House took the overall win as they had more second place team finishes than Red. So extra congratulations to Lexi Knight and all the members of Green Team on retaining the shield. We will present the Shield at assembly on Monday.

A huge thank-you to all the parents who came along on the day and walked with us to the park.
