Wellbeing

What does Wellbeing at OLHC look like in Term 2?

Welcome back from our Wellbeing Leaders - Em, Eloise, Kai, Raf and Mrs Holmes. We hope your holidays were relaxing, fun and filled with laughter. We met yesterday to make plans for Term 2 to help support one other’s learning, socialising and make plans for whole school fundraising. I think there was more laughter than planning and more eating of recess snacks than planning but the vibe was very positive and it was refreshing to be part of this group of Year 6 Leaders, onsite having fun.

Plans for this term include meeting with Jane next week from BIG Group Hug with the hope to do some fundraising for this local organisation.

We also plan to learn more about Prader-Willi Syndrome and have a fundraising day later in May for this Research Foundation.

There will be more about these two fundraisers in our next newsletter.

Bucketfilling continues to be the language we use for ‘acts of kindness’ in and out of the classroom. As leaders we plan to continue to visit areas of the playground to document evidence of bucketfilling behaviours. We then add this information to the pinboard outside Mr Green’s office. Next time you are up in this area please stop by to have a read of the ‘Kindness Culture’ at OLHC.

Next week we will be starting our weekly whole school assemblies again. We are rather excited about this so we can all have a chance to speak in the microphone, sharing our plans as leaders. We look forward to seeing you at the assembly next Monday.

'Til next time - enjoy lots of laughter!   We love it.

Mrs Holmes, Em, Kai, Eloise & Raf!
