Parental Engagement at St Joseph's

Since early in 2020 it has been very challenging for parents to involve themselves onsite at St Joseph's. This has impacted our sense of community which has traditionally been very strong at the school. Parental involvement is important and is usually focused on volunteering efforts, attending school events, or P&F activities.

Parental engagement, however,is about how you as a parent or carer engage in your child/ren's learning which is vital to their academic success and in maintaining their wellbeing.

This term, we will begin a process of identifying ways that the school can support parents to become further engaged in their child/ren's learning. The benefits of parental engagement are well researched and I hope to work with a group of parents and staff over the remainder of the year to set a vision, plan, and make changes to the way we support family learning.

You are Invited!

I warmly invite a group of parents to join me on a Parental Engagement Team that will meet at least twice each term. The day and time of the meetings will be dependent on the availability of those of you who express interest.

If this takes your interest simply complete the online form below to nominate yourself- please don't nominate other parents.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss your nomination.
