Preston-Butcher Cup Final

PRESTON-BUTCHER FINAL
On Tuesday, 4th April, our girls' Open Touch team played Mater Dei Catholic College in the final of the Preston-Butcher Cup at Jubilee Park. We got off to a really positive start scoring the first two touchdowns, scored by Shayla Watson and Charley Clout. MDCC then came back and scored two tries of their own. Emma Suckling’s touchdown gave us the lead but MDCC replied quickly. Valley-Jean Edwards scored our fourth try but again, Mater Dei equalised. At the half-time break the score was 4 all. The second half was a tough slog but in the end, MDCC defeated our girls in what was a fast-paced, highly skilful match. Congratulations to Mater Dei for their consistent high standard of play over the tournament. Well done to our girls who played with great heart and effort. They did KCC proud. A big thanks to Mrs Murphy who was our manager and to the great support we had on the day.
