Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carer’s,

Welcome back to school for Term 2 2022. I trust that you had a chance to relax and enjoy the Easter holiday break.

This term will see our students enjoying many opportunities to represent the school and to share experiences with our families and friends.

Thank you to those students who attended the ANZAC Day March last Monday here in Boggabri. It is an important time for us to reflect on the sacrifices made for us so we can enjoy the lives we have today. Thank you to our school captains for laying the wreath and reading a prayer during the service.

This Thursday we will be hosting our Mother’s Day breakfast at 8am. All mothers, grandmothers, aunties and special women in our lives are welcome. Please RVSP to Robyn in the front office by Wednesday if you wish to attend.

Congratulations to Molly who is this week representing Polding at the state tennis championships. We wish Molly every success. Congratulations also to Georgia who attended Polding hockey trials in Bathurst last week.

Also we wish our students participating in the Barraba Cross Country this Friday all the very best

Sandy Clarke has returned to our school this term, each Friday, to provide students with private music lessons. If you wish for your child to participate in these lessons, please contact the Gunnedah Conservatorium to arrange a time.

Our Transition to school program commenced last Thursday. It was so lovely to see the smiling faces of our new friends as they joined K-2 for the first time. Even though the  2023 Transition to School program commenced, if you know of anyone intending to enrol for 2023 please encourage them to contact me at the school.

With the commencement of Term 2, there will be the change over from summer to winter uniform. There will be a transition period between the two uniforms according to the weather for the first four weeks of Term 2. During this transition period students are either to wear their summer uniform or their winter uniform but not a combination of the two. Please remember that sports jackets are only to be worn with the sports uniform and the navy jumper is to be worn with the formal school uniform. The only amendment to this during the four week period will be school photo day where all students will need to attend in their full winter uniform.

A special mention to Lachlan Bates who turned 8 last Friday and Mrs Slack-Smith who will celebrate her birthday on Wednesday.  Enjoy your special day!

Take care
