Whats happening in the 5/6 Community

In the 5/6 community, we have been focussing on language features of poetry in our writing sessions. We have also learnt about numerous styles of poetry including Haikus, Palindromes, and Limericks. Students have thoroughly enjoyed learning and experimenting with their poetry writing and produced some exceptional results. Below are several examples:

Chocolates, candy and cake,

The cake is what we had to bake.

But don’t eat too much you see,

Or you will get diabetes!

The Earth,

The blue ocean,

Waves that thunder around,

The greenery and scenery,

So good!

Harmony Day

3/4 community enjoyed Harmony Day Activities which allowed us to celebrate our schools’ cultural diversity. Our students were very inclusive, respectful and made sure everyone’s culture and heritage was celebrated. The highlight of the day was definately the parade where we all got to showcase our traditional outfits.
