CEO'S Report & LLEN News

Well with all the uncertainty surrounding the Coronvirus it’s been an interesting start to the year.

Here at the City LLEN it is business as usual as we adapt and prepare for delivering our new contract focusing on careers, transitions and supports to secondary schools.  If we haven’t already spoken with you about what this could look like for your school or service please contact us.  In the mean time we have been meeting with our schools and other partners planning and prepping for a range of career industry days that will include: STEM, Engineering, Arts, Media and Construction.

Last friday we hosted a group of wonderful women from our schools and partners to attend the Business Chicks International Women’s Day Lunch empowering women and girls to achieve and aspire to their maximum potential across a range of industries.

Flexi Schools Network

This network developed and chaired by the LLEN met recently to identify our work for the year to support students attending non-mainstream schools. Also attending the meeting were DET/VCAA staff undertaking the VCAL review, it was a dynamic conversation whereby our practitioners and teacher experts were able to convey their recommendations and improvements to the VCAL program. The LLEN Network is also submitting a response to the VCAL review.
