Year 8 Science - The Incredible Edible Cell
Last week Year 8 Science Students created some Incredible Edible Cells to explore the different organelles (parts) of the cells along with their functions. Look at some of the great examples of students work that was done away from the computer screen.
Fuzzy Fridays
To break up the monotony of sitting in front of a screen day in, day out, I decided to switch things up a little bit for my students and host “Fuzzy Fridays”! This encourages students to bring their furry (or not so furry) friends into the virtual classroom and spend the first few minutes of class introducing their classmates to their pets. So far we’ve been lucky enough to meet lots of cute and cuddly cats, dogs, turtles and even lizards!
It is important during these uncertain times to stay connected with one another by bringing in positive aspects of learning remotely and creating a positive mindset. This is one way in which students have been able to demonstrate gratitude for having the opportunity to learn safely at home with their loved ones. The students (and teacher) have been responding very effectively to this initiative.
