Literacy

We have enjoyed being back in the classroom, reading books together and sharing our writing ideas. Writing sentences with interesting words and accurate punctuation has been our focus. We having been writing about all sorts of topics such as zoo animals, the beach, dogs, bees and shops.  Then on Friday with all the crazy weather, we even wrote about the wind! 

Maths

We have been looking at how a fraction can show a part of a whole and the parts must be equal.  Ice-cream cones were filled with different flavours and fractions were created using objects around the house. Then we created our very own fraction creatures 

and described them using the language 'out of'. Next we used that knowledge to sort a packet of M&M and describe the fraction represented by each different colour. 

It was a YUMMY learning experience!!
