What whirlwind the last couple of weeks have been!
We have got through a mixture of onsite and remote learning and survived the tiredness of the early days of return to school.
Literacy
WOOOOHHHHOOOOOO
The Preps have finally finished InitiaLit! They have done such a great job at engaging with the program and have learnt so much despite much of the program being remote. We have continued to build our fluency and comprehension skills by reading big books and picture books. The Preps have also started to build their writing skills by formulating ideas and writing them using known letter sounds. I have been absolutely blown away with some of the words the Preps have attempted to spell.
Last week we read 'Hark, It's Me, Ruby Lee!' and drew pictures of our very our imaginary school monsters just like in the story. The Preps then described their monsters.

Maths
Over the last couple of weeks we have enjoyed completing our measurement unit. We have been comparing the length of items using a range of materials. The best part was getting outside to use our hands and feet to measure things around the school.
Blue Folder and Readers Reminder
Please make sure blue folders and readers come to school everyday! We are finding lots of readers are going home but not coming back. This means that our stock at school is getting quite low and other children can't enjoy the books.
