Welcome back to onsite learning! I am so excited that we are finally back in the classroom. It has been wonderful watching the students enjoy each others company again and learning from and with one another. I am looking forward to a fun and busy end of the term. 

LITERACY 

The students have been focusing on showcasing their writing skills over the last two weeks. The students all completed a persuasive writing text and are completing a big write by responding to some picture prompts this week.  

The students have had fun using their imaginations this week to brainstorm possible pebble, rocks and boulders for their stories. 

MATHS

This week we are starting our unit on Fractions and Decimals. The students are going to be making connections between equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages as well as using their benchmarking skills to order, compare and locate these numbers on a number line. 

INQUIRY

This term we are focussing on civics and citizenship. Last week we got the children thinking deeper about the topic by using some contentious statements. The children engaged in friendly debates about the topics and shared some very thoughtful opinions and insights, demonstrating what they already know about the topic. We are looking forward to looking further into the levels of the government in Australia and who is responsible for what. 

The Sacrament of Confirmation

We are excited to be be able to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in Term 4 this year. It has been a long time coming! Information will be forwarded in the coming weeks for our celebration on Tuesday 23rd November @ 7:00pm
