Year 9 Arts Alive Program
During the Arts Alive program, Year 9 students explored their creative side. They examined unique and cutting-edge objects at the Melbourne Design Fair; received a backstage tour of the Malthouse Theatre; attended Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; and perused the magnificent graffiti art and architecture around the CBD. Over the course of the program, students were not only spectators, but also creators. They worked with Melbourne-based rapper, Mantra, to become rap lyricists in a Hip-Hop workshop at Hamer Hall, and participated in a photography challenge, where they used a range of compositions to capture the CBD. Their artistic expression was certainly on display.
Our students were deeply impressed by the show, and some of them have shared their thoughts on it:
Arts Alive woke me up to Melbourne's Art culture and inspired my artistic abilities Lucy M
Arts Alive enabled me to become a confident young person within our city
Evelyn L
Arts Alive enabled me to experience the city of Melbourne. An experience that can only be described as spell-binding
