Italian News

Ciao a tutte e a tutti!

My name is Jessica Chirco and I have begun working as an Italian Language Assistant with Signora Bilionis at C.S.P.S. and Signora Vampatella at Armadale Primary.

I am Italian, born and raised in Marsala, Sicily, and studied English, Portuguese and Language Education at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. I studied in Portugal twice, once during my first degree and then again when I was doing my Masters. I also worked as an Italian Language Assistant with adults in a private language school in Amsterdam, after I obtained my first degree.

Here I am working through an Italian Language Assistants Program funded by the Italian and the Victorian governments and by CO.AS.IT., a non-profit organization that provides services for Italian Australians, such as education, aged care and cultural events.

I am very excited about being given the opportunity to work with all these fantastic students until the end of the year. I have met some of them already and hope to meet some of the others soon. It has been amazing so far and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of the Italian language and culture with all of you.

Grazie to all the beautiful children who have given me such a warm welcome into their school and have been showing their appreciation of my support!

Un caro saluto,

Jessica.
