Interschool Sport
In Term Two, the Year 5/6 students participate in Interschool Sports. Throughout the term they have the opportunity to visit different schools in the Holt District and end the term with the Lightning Premiership to showcase the skills they have learnt!
Netball
Leading up to the Lightning Premiership we played four games against four different schools across four Fridays. We only won one game which is a shame, but we all got to play in different positions and we tried our best. We had one home game and that was the one we won. We played four ten minute quarters and swapped our positions so everyone got a turn at all the positions.
To finish the interschool sport we played in the Lightning Premiership! For this day we split up into two teams, the girls team and the mixed team. It only rained a little bit and was freezing cold but we still played really well. We played five games of netball with two seven minute halves. Both teams made it to the semi-finals! The girls team won three of their games and got into the semi finals in third place. Unfortunately they lost 12-9. The mixed team played five games and won two of them. They also got into the semi finals in forth place. Unfortunately they lost the game but were really proud to have made it into finals.
It was a great day and we all had so much fun, learning about netball and getting better with each game!

Football
On Thursday the footballers had the lightning premiership. We competed against eight schools and we won four out of our seven games. Our first game we were up against St. James Brighton and beat them (+1 win). Our 2nd and 3rd games we played St. Agnes Highett and St. Marys which we won both (+2 wins). The 4th and 5th games we lost against St. Joseph Elsternwick and St. Joseph Black Rock. The 6th game we lost against St. Columbia and our 7th game we won against Our Lady of Lords (+1 win).
We tried really hard and everyone played well! We ended up making it to the bronze medal game (The fight for 3rd place ). We had a match against St Joseph's Black Rock. The games were two ten minute halves and we ended up beating St Joseph's Black Rock to win 3rd place. Everyone tried extremely well and everyone had a really good time.
