Parent's voice

Mother's Day at CJC

We hope that everyone had a lovely time on Sunday celebrating their mum or special person.

Fundraising:  One of the goals of the Parent’s Committee is to fundraise for items and equipment to improve the experience of our children at CJC. With the profits from the Mother’s Day events last week, we have funded the purchase of 10 new garden beds for the school’s STEM program run by Mr Lewis. We cannot wait until they arrive at school and they are put to good use by our students. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the school’s STEM garden project and we will let parents know when there are other opportunities to participate.

Volunteering:  The Parent’s Committee will now use the Sign-Up online platform to manage and streamline volunteering at the school. All of the upcoming events where volunteers are required are now online and you can sign up to volunteer ahead of time.  In terms 3 and 4 we have a number of events planned where parent volunteers are needed:

  • Bastille Day: Friday, 14 July
  • Father’s Day Stall and Breakfast: Friday, 1 September
  • Stargazing Night: TBD (Science Week depending on the stars aligning)
  • Parent Bingo night (Date TBD)
  • Diwali:  Friday, 17 November
  • End of Year Party: Friday, 1 December from 3.30 – 6pm

We hope that this new platform and advance notice will assist families to better plan when they might be able to volunteer at school: https://signup.com/go/hdjNbBk

Parent’s Committee Meetings:  We have two upcoming parent’s committee meetings to discuss planning for upcoming events, one on 26 May and on 16 July Friday both from 9 - 10 in the staff room. If you have a great idea that you want to bring to life at CJC, please come along and join-in. All welcome.

Friday Treats:  Friday Treats are on sale every Friday of Term 2 and  Pains au Chocolate from Reverie café will be offered for $4 each.  As demand for the extra delicious pastries has increased week on week, we have ordered more each Friday going forward families do not miss out. The class volunteer roster is below:

Class Year Level Stay and Play Afternoons

To enable further opportunities for families and our children to connect, Class Convenors, PC and the School have organized a series of “Stay and Play” after school events where families can stay on school ground from 3.30 until 5.30 to enjoy a casual catch up. Children must be supervised by a parent. Your class convenor will be in touch with more details for your class.  Siblings, including those in other year levels are welcome to attend.
