11 August - Round 13

Year 7 Red – Ray McManus (Coach), Ren (Team Manager)

Mazenod Red Won 36 to Hills Rangers Grey 26

After a disappointing game last week – the boys bounced back to produce their best team game of the season.  After losing the toss and having to kick into a 2 – 3 goal wind, the boys held Hills Rangers Grey to one goal for the quarter.  Kicking with the wind in the second quarter we had the majority of play but did not make the most of our opportunities and went into half time even.

The third quarter was a struggle with Rangers kicking two goals in two minutes and at three quarter time we were down by two goals.

A sensational last quarter saw us kick three goals and the back line hold firm as a unit with great midfield support to keep Rangers at bay.

I’m sure the parents loved hearing the boys sing the song with great enthusiasm and we only came away with one injury (Tom – our scoreboard attendant).

Thanks to the parent support yet again – and for Suzie who learnt on the job as our fill in water runner!

Year 7 Blue – Michael Ferritto (Coach), Paula (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Won 71 to Upper Swan Black 2

Year 7 White – Scott Hopkins (Coach), Melissa (Team Manager)

Mazenod Won 56 to Forrestfield 42

Mazenod Blue Won 118 to Lynwood Ferndale 6

Year 8 White – Oscar Buckingham (Coach), Tracey / Josh (Team Managers)

Mazenod White Lost 30 to Mt Lawley Inglewood 31

A heart wrenching 1 point loss today to the number 1 team in the division “Mt Lawley Inglewood”. You could see the boys really felt it after the game.  They went all in from the start and only just pulled up short in the end.

Year 9 Blue – Adrian Conti (Coach), Gisella (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Lost 50 to Caversham Blue 115

Year 9 White – Mike Mount-Bryson (Coach), Elena (Team Manager)

Mazenod White Lost 52 to Lynwood Ferndale 72

Mazenod Won 58 to Caversham 48

Year 11 Blue – Shane Lanzon (Coach), Santino (Team Manager)

Mazenod Lost 36 to Coolbinia Mt Hawthorn 56

The boys took a little while to get the game plan in action and even with a stronger second half effort, were not able to catch up on the scoreboard. We have a rest this coming week, some time to regroup, ready to play finals footy!
