Mazenod V Aquinas College Junior Hockey

Last Friday 9th August Mazenod Junior Hockey Team travelled to Aquinas College to play a friendly junior hockey game. It was a fantastic experience for the Mazenod students who played hard but unfortunately went down to a very strong Aquinas team 3-0. Big thank you to Mr Pavlinovich and Miss Gmeiner who coached the students in the lead up and on the day. The team would also like to thank the large contingent of parents who came and supported the team last Friday.

ACC DIVISION 1

On Wednesday 14 August, the Year 10 College Football Team played in the annual ACC Division 1 Carnival held at Hamer Park in Mt Lawley. The team was met with some chilly and wet conditions but were excited to get the games underway. In total there were four matches with some strong opposition from schools such as CBC Fremantle, Emmanuel Catholic College and Bunbury Catholic College.

The team played really well with some strong performances from each player. It was really pleasing to see the team work on display as well as the strong attack on the ball. Some of the passages of play from defence to attack were simply outstanding.

The team won two out of the four matches with close losses in games to Emmanuel and Bunbury Catholic. At the end of the day the team finished third out of the five schools competing. It was a great result and some excellent reward for a consistent effort over the course of the day in the top division of the competition.

A big thank you to Mr Hemley for his assistance in organising the day, the ACC and to the parents that came along and showed their support.

Year 7 WAFC Football v Clontarf

On Wednesday the Year 7 WAFC football team travelled to Clontarf College to play the first game in the Year 7 WAFC competition. It was a great game that Mazenod dominated from start to finish running out winners 58-0.

A big thank you to Mr Gardner who coached the team. Next round the team will play Governor Stirling SHS at Mazenod on Wednesday 21st @ 4pm.
