Sports Update

Polding Cross Country

Congratulations to our Cross Country runners! I was so proud of each student’s result. They all ran with grit and determination while also demonstrating fine sportsmanship and support for one another. Special mention to Fletcher Barratt who won GOLD and Aila McBain who placed 6th. Both students will now compete at the NSWPSSA Championships at Eastern Creek on 22 July.

Netball Schools Cup

Congratulations to our superstar netballers who travelled to Inverell last Wednesday to participate in the Netball NSW Schools Cup. From all reports our students were standouts for their skills on the court and behaviour and the way they conducted themselves off the court. Thank you to our ever-supportive band of parents and grandparents who continue to assist with coaching and cheering! As a result of our amazing effort, the Stage 3 Red team (consisting of Mya Key, Ella Bruce, Danyela Bailey, Allegra Pinferi, Abigail Pietsch, Paige Floyd, Eve Watson & Bronte Ellis) have qualified to compete at the Regional Finals in Tamworth in September!

Athletics Carnival

The annual St Joseph’s Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 1 July. Due to a very wet King George Oval, we have kindly been given the opportunity to hold the field events (Years 3-6) and 100m races (Kindergarten - Year 6) at Glen Innes High School. We will then move across to the Show Ground for the 200m, 800m, Joey’s Gift and relay races. A Compass notification will go out shortly with further information and for parents to provide consent. As this is extraordinary circumstances, there will not be Age Champions awarded for students in Kindergarten or Stage 1.
