Year 6 House Sports Gala Day

From Ben, Physical Education Teacher

Our Year 6 students who did not take part in the Interschool Sport Gala Days had a House Sports Competition at school. Across the two days, students took part in a number of different events including, table tennis, relays, trivia, basketball, and volleyball.

In the afternoon, we did athletics relays. It was intense because everyone was cheering you on along the side lines. For those that don't know, a relay is where you have a baton that has to be held onto while you run. You run on a team, each person runs and passes the baton to the next person. All 4 people ran around the oval and the first team to cross the line won some house points.

Basketball was fun, but was really competitive - even the Grade 6 teachers joined in. My team won 2 out of 3 games. It was extra fun because we were playing with our friends and the teachers. Stef even shot some 3 pointers!

We also played volleyball which was fun because you had your team cheering you on. My team went pretty well and we even won 2 of the rounds.
