You, Me and Murrawee - Our 4-year-old group excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens

With much anticipation, the day finally arrived for our bus trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens! On 7 May, together with our large group of parent helpers, we arrived in time for a snack on the lawn.

Then, our Royal Botanic Gardens educators introduced themselves and the learning began. Listening intently, before joining an exciting sensory journey through trees, bushes, rocks and grasses, the children shared a story. Based around the story - You, Me and Murrawee by Kerri Hashmi and Felicity Marshall, there was much to learn about the land, its plants, animals and people, and how important it is to respect and care for them all.

It was an inspiring insight into the wonders of our world through indigenous traditions. We look forward to continuing Lenka and Linda’s messages of respect as we embed indigenous culture into our ELC programs.
