Classroom News - Year 6

Our new Year 6 students have made a running start to 2021. We have worked to put in place our class routines and timetable, as well as set goals and organise our learning space. 

Our first English unit will look at narratives, Science is investigating the states of matter through ICE CREAM and in Religion this week we began looking at the Beatitudes.

Year 6 has many opportunities to show leadership  in the school. These include: 

• Peace Patrol
• Library Helpers
• House Captain responsibilities
• Leaders within Mini Vinnies
• Green Thumbs
• Kindergarten Buddies
• Being role models on the playground and at Mass

Students also have the opportunity to try out for Diocesan representative teams in a variety of sports.

Take this opportunity to talk to your child about how they think the can be an everyday leader at St Mary's. You don't need a badge to be a leader.
