Classroom News - Year 4

Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie

Welcome!

Welcome back to all our Year 4 students and a very special welcome to our new students Anthony and Jayda.

We've hit the ground running in Year 4 this year with loads of exciting things to look forward to in 2021. It has been fantastic to see that all of Year 4 have found their feet and settled into Year 4 smoothly.

We seem to be having a great start to 2021 with our routines becoming second nature to Year 4 very quickly as they become more accustomed to life in primary.

Thank you to all those who have come to school prepared with pencil cases equipped and ready for learning. We do have a large amount of resources for all students, however for the best learning to take place it is beneficial for all students to make sure they do have their own equipment.

Term 1

Term 1 will be filled with many learning opportunities with our English block being a major focus. Big Write will be returning with Talk Homework coming home on a Tuesday afternoon ready for Wednesday.

Maths will include working with Whole Numbers in a variety of ways, Time and Addition of numbers with 2, 3 and 4 digits.

RE units will include Living the Law of Love and Lent: A time to make Choices.

History we will be looking at World Navigation and Exploration prior to 1770.

Science will entail packaging, how and why we package parcels the way we do.

PDHPE will include Zones of Regulation, and identifying the Zones others are in as well as  team games.

Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie are both really looking forward to the year ahead. We want to encourage all of Year 4 to jump in and have a go at everything that is put in front of them.
