Design and Technologies

Deb Taylor

Throughout the year, teachers require many materials to enable them to provide interesting, age-appropriate challenges during Design & Technologies and STEM lessons. In order to do this in a sustainable way, we need to collect and store many recyclable materials such as cardboard, polystyrene and plastic containers.

If you are able to collect and send or bring to school the following items, we would greatly appreciate it, as many of the materials are used up when several classes are building their designs.

The materials we most require are:

  • cardboard tubes from inside clingfilm, alfoil, paper towel (NO toilet rolls
  • cardboard (flat and clean)
  • shoe boxes
  • polystyrene from packaging (NOT meat trays)
  • clear plastic containers (clean, with or without lids)
  • plastic lids from milk bottles
  • old CDs or DVDs
  • anything else you think would be suitable.
